2016 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

2016 NFL Mock Draft 3.0 (Post NFL Combine, 3-6-16)

After the 2016 NFL Combine, several players have improved their stock, thanks to their athletic ability. Others, as a result, hurt their stock and are moving down big boards. Other news around the NFL Draft, including those of Ole Miss players, have made NFL GMs raise questions about off-the-field issues. Laremy Tunsil has been a favorite to go number one, but will he still be there? Let’s find out in my third NFL Mock Draft!

Discussion of the Top 10

1.) Tennessee Titans

The Pick: Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida State

Discussion: With recent allegations that Laremy Tunsil may have been involved in the incident with Robert Nkemdiche, the Titans may re-think their selection if they stay put at number one. Jalen Ramsey, on the other hand, continues to surprise us. He is the best player in the draft and will be the best choice for Tennessee as they compete against Andrew Luck and a rising Blake Bortles.

2.) Cleveland Browns

The Pick: Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

Discussion: The Browns are desperate at this point. Johnny Manziel is out and this organization needs a fresh start, again. At this point, Wentz looks like the best option at QB. Honestly, what does Cleveland have to lose?

3.) San Diego Chargers

The Pick: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss

Discussion: Tunsil falls to number three, and the Chargers happy pick him. Although there is a risk, San Diego needs some serious help on their offensive line. Philip Rivers needs some protection to get his team back on track.

4.) Dallas Cowboys

The Pick: Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Discussion: Dallas gets just what they want, as Joey Bosa drops to them. This pick makes a lot of sense as Randy Gregory is suspended for the first four games of 2016 and Greg Hardy is out of Dallas. Oh, did I mention Bosa is a top 3 player in this class?

5.) Jacksonville Jaguars

The Pick: Myles Jack, OLB, UCLA

Discussion: As Jacksonville’s offense improved greatly in 2015, the defensive side still needs help. The Jaguars want Jalen Ramsey, but he is likely gone at this point. Instead, they pick the best player available in Myles Jack. Jack is a freak athlete and will convert greatly to an NFL linebacker.

6.) Baltimore Ravens

The Pick: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

Discussion: The Baltimore Ravens had a upsetting season in 2015 and will be looking to turn it around next year. While receiver may be the top need, Ronnie Stanley is too good of a player to let fall any further. Baltimore needs help on their offensive line to protect Joe Flacco and keep him healthy.

7.) San Francisco 49ers

The Pick: Jared Goff, QB, California

Discussion: Colin Kaepernick wants out of San Francisco and Chip Kelly is taking over. The 49ers are looking for a fresh start. They fulfil this by selecting in-state QB Jared Goff. Goff may have a few question marks, but there is no doubt in his skill as a football player. The 49ers will be able to  build around Goff in the later rounds of this draft.

8.) Miami Dolphins

The Pick: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

Discussion: After a poor season by the Miami secondary, the Dolphins are looking for a cornerback that will be able to make an impact from day one. Vernon Hargreaves III, a product of a good Florida team in 2015, will be able to do that. He has been a starter since his freshman season and has dominated since.

9.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Pick: DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

Discussion: I’m not completely set on Buckner, but their is no doubt in his drive and athletic ability. These two characteristics are just what this Buccaneers defense needs. Bucker has tremendous size that will give him an advantage in the NFL. He will be a perfect fit alongside Gerald McCoy on the defensive line.

10.) New York Giants

The Pick: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State

Discussion: Although the defense needs a lot of help in New York, the Giants select another offensive playmaker in Ezekiel Elliott of Ohio State. Elliott had a great career as a Buckeye and looks for a better career in the NFL. The Giants have been lacking a solid running back for years  now, and Elliott would take a load off Eli Manning and the rest of the offense.
